Tooth Decay Causes and How it Works

Tooth decay is something that happens to just about all of us.  If you have it, let’s just say that you are not alone.  It happens when the enamel gets worn down most likely because of bacteria.  There are many other causes for the decay of the enamel, but bacteria is the big one.  The bacteria are very similiar to us in the sense that they enjoy sugar foods, the just love them.  When the bacteria are on and around your teeth they eat the sugar and when they do they pump out this acid that eats enamel quick.  The enamel gets worn down and then bad stuff happens, stuff like cavities.  The acid just eats away and then the bacteria goes down further and further.  A cavity can be fixed quite easily by a dentist in Stigler Oklahoma, and you might also need something like a root canal or a crown, and they can do that too.

The truth is no one really likes prevention, they like cures.  But when it comes to this you want to practice prevention.  This is quite easy because all you have to do is brush your teeth and floss on a regular basis to keep the bacteria levels down.  You might also want to cut back on the sugar, but that is not something that is easy for most of us.
